Berchidda

This is a town that is well known for its rich variety of wines and foods, and for the production of Vermentino wine.

The town stands on a steep rise, on the slopes of the Limbara mountain chain, and the highest part of the town seems to disappear into a dense, luxuriant pine wood, with trails running through it to the well-equipped shady areas, from where it is possible to look down into the valley below and also to admire the layout of the town. The main square, recently renovated with an interesting intervention, is also a pleasant spot from which to view the peak of Monte Acuto with the ruins of a castle and to look out towards the Tenuta Lochiri country estate.

Oschiri

Since the dawn of time, the area of Oschiri has been used intensely by local populations. This can be seen in the numerous archaeological findings of great importance, such as Dolmen, Giants' Tombs, Domus de Janas and thirty or so nuraghi, which all show the even spread of people throughout the area, especially in terms of the main economic activities of animal farming and agriculture. From a naturalist viewpoint, the area offers splendid countryside, thanks to its position on the banks of Lake Coghinas, a natural flower and animal reserve.
